A Letter From Fabricare:

Dear friends,

Honestly, one year ago we weren’t sure we were going to remain in business.

The combination of the pandemic’s effect on the economy combined with people working and staying home led to a severe decrease in the demand for dry cleaning services.

Like many other small businesses that had to adapt, we also looked at ways to be of service to our customers and found more positive than negative coming from the shutdown.

Our home division (HomeCare by Fabricare) actually increased and became more of a significant part of our overall business. Many of you not only lived in your home, but you also worked from there, taught your children from there, and even exercised from there amongst other activities. Outdoor space became even more important and our customers were cleaning patio cushions like they were shirts before Covid!

Zoom calls lead to more casual wear which led to the launch of our LaundryCare by Fabricare service. So we asked ourselves, why distinguish between laundry and dry cleaning? Let’s just consider servicing all clothing. Deciding what to dry clean, what to wash, or what to hang dry is our problem, not yours. Our LaundryCare by Fabricare service was launched with that idea in mind and growing rapidly.

So here we are a year after the Covid Crush and we’re still in business thanks to you. You found value in our services and for that, we are very grateful. As I write this, Connecticut is well on its way to being in pre-pandemic shape. My hat is off to all those restaurants who built plexiglass dividers, acquired heaters, moved to take out and or delivery, and are still in business. The same for all other retailers and small businesses who found a way.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Best,
Michael Astorino, Owner
