HC by Fabricare is excited to announce that Ubaldo “UB” Ahuatl has been named the new manager of the HomeCare Division. With more than a decade of experience at Fabricare, UB brings a deep understanding of professional cleaning, specialty fabrics, and the techniques required to properly care for the things customers value most.
The appointment comes at an exciting time for HC by Fabricare. Born from Fabricare’s more than 40 years of experience as a trusted, award-winning dry cleaner, HC was created to bring that same level of expertise and care into the home.
Today, HC by Fabricare provides professional cleaning for a wide range of home furnishings—from sheets and bedding to upholstered furniture, area rugs, window treatments, and outdoor cushions.
As the division has grown, so has the need for dedicated leadership to ensure that growth never comes at the expense of the two things Fabricare has always put first: quality and customer service.
“UB is the perfect person to manage HC by Fabricare,” says Michael Astorino, owner of Fabricare. “He’s been with Fabricare for over 10 years and knows just about every position. Most importantly, UB loves his team as much as his customers.”
From Fine Clothing to Fine Furnishings
What makes UB uniquely qualified for the role is the perspective he brings from the world of premium dry cleaning. During his years at Fabricare, UB has been extensively trained as a cleaning technician, learning how different fabrics and materials react to various cleaning methods, products, and solvents. That knowledge translates directly to the care of high-end furnishings.
“People don’t always realize how much expertise goes into cleaning something in their home,” UB explains. “You can’t treat every fabric or material the same way. You have to understand what you’re working with and determine the right process.”
In fact, UB likes to put the level of expertise into perspective with a comparison from his dry-cleaning experience:
“The care for a wine stain on a couch is nothing compared to a Chanel jacket.”

For UB, cleaning isn’t simply about removing dirt or stains. He genuinely enjoys seeing the transformation that professional cleaning can make. Give him a set of patio cushions covered in mildew, and he’ll see a challenge—not a lost cause.
“I actually get excited when I see the difference cleaning can make,” says UB. “You can take something that looks like it needs to be thrown away and bring it back to life.”
That passion extends to learning. UB recently returned from Chicago after completing an advanced cleaning course focused on window treatments, adding to his knowledge of the specialized techniques required to safely clean and care for these often-overlooked home furnishings.
His commitment to continuing education is an important part of what HC by Fabricare wants to bring to customers: expertise that doesn’t stand still.

As HC’s new manager, UB will oversee the division’s operations and help establish systems that allow the business to grow while maintaining the quality and personalized service customers have come to expect from Fabricare.
